“Come Alive” #Trust30

Today’s Writing Prompt:

Life wastes itself while we are preparing to live. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

If you had one week left to live, would you still be doing what you’re doing now?  In what areas of your life are you preparing to live?  Take them off your To Do list and add them to a To Stop list.  Resolve to only do what makes you come alive.

Bonus: How can your goals improve the present and not keep you in a perpetual “always something better” spiral?

My Response:

I entirely would not be doing what I was doing now…except writing, of course.  I would entirely go to the tropics, enjoy a laidback lifestyle for my last week, and hope a hurricane blows me away.  While I am a very deadline oriented person, something just clicks for me when I’m on “island time”.

When your goals stop being about surviving and start being about thriving, that’s when you avoid that spiral.  I use my sister-in-law as an example.  Excuse the phrase, but she has the balls to take what she wants.  She likes to thrive.  Plain.  Simple.
