So what’s new? I’m up early…AGAIN! That’s the beauty of being 2 hours earlier than normal time at home. Your body still gets up when it does.
I turned to HBO and saw an old comedy special starring the guy who played Harry on Home Improvement. Wow! Gotta love the 80’s. Or maybe it was the early 90’s. I don’t know. I didn’t bother to look it up. It was too early.
After about 10 minutes of watching television, I decided there was no use in me sitting around like that. I had nothing to do…except to get in my car and drive. So I get all my luggage and go check out and go. I did see my first gas station with E85 fuel before I left Las Vegas. Too bad I wasn’t driving a flex fuel car, or I would have saved $0.60 per gallon.
The drive was fairly uneventful…except for a few things. I stopped in Mesquite, Nevada. I had to go pee. I also wanted breakfast. So I go to the Walmart that is advertised to have a Subway inside. I guess there isn’t a demand for Subway breakfast in Mesquite, Nevada. The Subway was closed up. However, I did find an interesting sight in the Walmart bathroom.
You don’t normally find a floral arrangement in a guys bathroom unless it is a REALLY fancy restaurant.
As for breakfast, I had to get greasy at McDonald’s! Oh well.
Past Mesquite was the most interesting part of the drive. I passed over the Virgin River. There was a mountain range ahead. I didn’t see the road curving. I didn’t see a spread between the mountains. That’s right…I had to go through them!!! It was the Virgin River Gorge.
Once I got to Salt Lake City, I got to my relatives, and then we went to a service where there was a blessing for a new baby one of my cousins had recently. I must say, it was an interesting experience being in an LDS service. The more I do things like that, the more I want to do. I like different experiences as long as they don’t serve to harm me.
We then gathered at another family member’s house for lunch/dinner…what do you call that? I know between breakfast and lunch is brunch. So is this one linner? lupper? sunch? dunch?
Overall, it was a good day.
