In Which I Just Wished They Would Have Flipped Me Off

Stop me if you’ve heard this one…

I was driving down the road when I got cut-off.

Two lane road. I was in the left lane and a semi was ahead of me in the right lane. Another car was in the right lane a little more than a quarter mile back. I had my cruise control on, and was slowly gaining on the semi. Eventually the car further back decided they didn’t want to be behind me and started to speed up. I guess the idea was to pass me before I passed the semi.

Here’s the problem. I had already closed the distance. The driver looked back, made eye contact with me, saw I was a foot and a half ahead of her rear fender, and then proceeded to change lanes anyway. I had to slam on my brakes. My initial reaction after that was to flip the double birdie her way. All she did was give me a little beauty pageant wave. Pissed me off even more. If she just would have flipped me off right back, that would have told me “I know I cut you off and I don’t care”.

Send me back to where I came from. There, I didn’t get this fake Southern “bless your heart” from anyone. I knew exactly where I stood with everyone!

Good thing a company logo hadn’t been affixed to the company car I was driving. I would’ve needed to exercise more restraint.
