In Which The Rock Electrifies On Tape

Man, The Rock appeared on Raw last night.  Let me make sure you understand it correctly though.  He appeared.  He was not actually there.
It was a taped appearance, taped at the same place in his Los Angeles home that has now become famous.  The doors over his left shoulder and the display case of all his WWE championship belts over his right shoulder.  But get this…
…he still ELECTRIFIED!
Dwayne Johnson is still a man like everyone else.  However, he has this inate ability to entertain like no one else.  There’s just something about The Rock, whether you see him in person or not.  That crowd sitting in the arena last night was wrapped around The Rock’s little pinkey finger.  Everyone in the WWE lockerroom wishes they were that good.  I think Vince McMahon is starting to wish the same thing, too.

For the end of this posting, I wanted to share a quote from a blog by Kurt Sutter, creator of the series Sons of Anarchy:  No specific reason.  It just spoke to me…
I believe that consciousness creates the illusion of individuation, the false feeling of being separate. In other words, I am aware, ergo I am alone. I further believe that this existential misunderstanding is the prime motivating force for the neurotic compulsion to blot out consciousness. This explains the paradox of our culture, which celebrates the ego while simultaneously promoting its evisceration with drugs and alcohol. It also clarifies our deep-seated fear of monolithic, one-minded systems like communism, religious fundamentalism, zombies and invaders from Mars. Each one is a dark echo of an oceanic state of unifying transcendence from which consciousness must, by nature, flee. The Fall from Grace is, in fact, a Sprint from Grace. Or perhaps more accurately, “Screw Grace, I am so outta here!”
