“Speak Less” #Trust30

Today’s Writing Prompt:

What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think. This rule, equally arduous in actual and in intellectual life, may serve for the whole distinction between greatness and meanness. It is the harder, because you will always find those who think they know what is your duty better than you know I. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
I once received a fortune cookie that read:
-Speak less of your plans, you’ll get more done.
-What’s one project that you’ve been sitting on and thinking about but haven’t made progress on? What’s stopping you? What would happen if you actually went for it and did it?
My Response:
I’ve been working on a “helpdesk” type end of computers and other electronic equipment for quite some time.  This goes back to my first exposure to computers.  I’d always have family, including my mother, get me to help them when something is wrong with the computer.
What kind of computer jobs can I get these days?  Not much.  There’s plenty that I don’t know.  There’s plenty that I do know.
I guess I’m not learning it fast enough.  I’ve applied for and interviewed for a job that should give me a chance to pick up some of that knowledge.  After I’ve spent some time in that environment, then I should be able to move on to things bigger and better!
